What to expect

Traditional Thai massage is done on a wide floor mat, in loose cotton clothes we give you, without oil. The therapist presses along the energy lines with palms, thumbs, elbows and knees, then moves you through passive yoga stretches. It is firm, sometimes intense, and leaves you loose and clear-headed. Sixty minutes is the standard first session.

Oil massage is done on a table with warm organic oils from Thailand. Long flowing strokes, pressure along the meridians, gentle stretches of the neck and legs. Choose it if you want to relax rather than be stretched.

Strong massage with Thai walking is the deepest pressure we offer: the therapist walks on your back, glutes and thighs, holding parallel bars to control her weight. Popular with athletes and anyone with stubborn knots.

Tell the therapist your preferred pressure at the start and at any point during the session. Therapists understand basic English and reception staff speak English.

Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before the appointment. Arrive 10 minutes early and avoid a heavy meal in the hour before.

Do I need to undress?

For massage on the mat, no: you wear the loose cotton clothes we provide. For oil massage you undress to your underwear and are covered with a towel throughout.
